Ceramic Weekend - Biannual Competition
Every year in April The Chicken Farm Art Center, San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts, and Angelo State University get together and host three fantastic days of ceramic bliss!
Together we host ceramic workshops (free and paid), symposiums and talks with the artists, gallery openings, and we finish of the event with a good o'le fashioned Dinner and Dance right here at The Art Center.
Every other year is an International Ceramics Competition (next is 2018) and in the off years one to two invited and renowned ceramic artists are showcased at the museum (2017).
For more information check out www.samfa.org for the current and past year's show.
If you're interested in participation in workshops you can also make reservations and payments through the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts.
Concerts in the Yard - Music Series
Our mission to Share the Art Spirit doesn't stop with the visual world, art is in what you hear as well. Local and Texas based Musicians join us with a variety of genres: oldies, folk, country, rock, and more.
This only happens during the warmer months, typically May - October we host this FREE concert in our courtyard every Friday night before the First Saturday event.
The concerts start at 6:30 and unofficially end at 8:30, however if the musicians are feeling good we've been known to keep going till midnight. The only thing we ask if that you bring a chair and enjoy the music.

What Do We Have Here?
We have approximately 15 Artist Studios at any given time. Painting, pottery, sculpture, wood working, glass, metal, you name it and we probably have someone doing it. Our studio artists set their own shop hours, most are here on Saturdays and during events. When visiting, we encourage you to check every studio door, if it opens head inside and check it out!
